About Me

Sharron Burns, a graduate of Christopher Newport University with a degree in Fine Arts, moved to Weddington North Carolina in 2000.  She has lived and studied world wide from Germany and Italy to Australia. Recently, she has studied with well-known artists Tom Lynch, Bridget Austin, Karlyn Holman and Nancy Couick.

Sharron began exhibiting her art by winning a Best in Show in Haleiwa, Hawaii.  Her series of mandala drawings and paintings were featured in a one woman show in Geneva, Illinois and a feature article in the Chicago Beacon News.  Locally, she has exhibited with the Charlotte Artists SocietyMatthews Art GuildGuild of Charlotte Artists and Nancy Courick Studios and Gallery in Charlotte.  In 2007, she won an Honorable Mention and Third Place Award at Matthews Alive and First Place at the annual Charlotte Artist Society Show.  In 2008, she won an honorable mention in the Charlotte Artist Society WSOC show and her work, Luscious Lemons, was accepted in the annual Watercolor Society of North Carolina juried show.

Sharron’s works reflect her love of still life paintings of all kinds from flowers to fruit and vegetables to shells.  It depicts the crispness and freshness of watercolors.  She enjoys exploring the diffused facets, light reflections and clarity of glass and crystal combined with nature’s abundance.  While watercolor painting is her preference, she also enjoys pencil and pen and ink drawing and sketching.
